Skeptics

Those of us who consider ourselves to be Christian often say and do things to harm our cause and hurt our witness. One of  my favorite songs contains the following spoken words that say well what many have thought: “People aren’t confused by the gospel, they’re confused by us. Jesus is the only way to God, but we are not the only way to Jesus. This world doesn’t need my tie, my hoodie, my denomination, or my translation of the Bible. They just need Jesus. We can be passionate about what we believe, but we can’t strap ourselves to the gospels because we’re slowing it down. Jesus is going to save the world, but maybe the best thing we can do is just get out of the way”.

I am not a Bible scholar, but I have spent 29 years seeking God and his ways. Here is my offer to you…if you have doubts about Jesus and who he claims to be, here is your chance to “stump the Christian”. Ask any question about what we must do to be saved; ask any question about Jesus and his claims; ask any question about what christians believe and why they believe it.  I may not have an immediate answer, but I will try to get you an answer.

I have a few ground rules if you wish to participate:

• Questions and comments must be honest questions…in other words, you are ginuinely seeking an answer, not just sounding off or mocking.
• All dialogue must be professional, kind, and caring.
• Everyone must be treated with respect no matter what their views are.
• All participants must be seeking truth (including me).
• No foul language or lewd remarks.

I reserve the right to modify the rules if needed. If anyone breaks these rules, their comments or questions will be deleted without response.

The purpose of this page is truth seeking. If you have a differing point of view. your views will be posted as long as you back up what you are saying with evidence for why you believe what you believe. No question or topic of discussion is off limits, as long as it fits within these guidelines. May God get the glory for any truth we share and discover and may all of us come to a fuller understanding of what we believe and why we believe it.

So there you have it. An open forum to freely seek the truth. Just leave your question or comment as a comment to this post and we can continue the dialoge from there.
